I had no idea what Amalaki was

Well, I totally felt like being fancy today and went to one of the organic stores in the area and bam, came across this strange glass container with a monkey on it. So I think to myself, “I could go with what I already know in a drink, or pick up something for the review…plus there’s a monkey on it for Pete’s sake.” Obviously, I got the drink.

Actually, there were two. The first one was Blackberry Hibiscus, but I picked up Peach Amalaki. I like peach, but had absolutely no idea what in blue blazes “amalaki” was. Well, until about 10 minutes ago. Apparently, it’s a freaking Indian Gooseberry. Spicy doesn’t apply to fruits, does it? Thankfully, not in this case. It’s definitely not a drink for the tip of the tongue as it seems to appeal more to the back. Much like when Fonzie would get scolded for one thing or another and do something cool and then you realize you want him to stay. But alas, the drink is already on it’s way down. For the front, it seems like a really grainy drink and usually that turns me off to a drink, but it certainly does work. The peach has slight slight hints, but is overwhelmed by what I can only imagine is that Amalaki.

Would I try this again? Absolutely. Would I get this one specifically if others were available? Not likely, but it is still quite a good drink. Plus there’s a monkey on it! Look at it! BAM! 7 out of 10 explosions for this drinketty drank!
